ABOUT SVETLANA DIMOVSKI, Phd

Personal Introduction

Svetlana Dimovski PhD Executive Coach

Hi, I’m Svetlana (Lana).

I am an NBC-HWC and ICF-credentialed coach, materials scientist, Kellogg Executive Scholar in Leadership, and Chopra Center Certified Instructor in Primordial Sound Meditation. And, like you, I don’t quite fit the mold…

I see invisible things. As an experimental materials scientist, I studied delicate nanometer-size structures using powerful electron beams. Often, that meant carefully balancing power with sensitivity while patiently focusing for an extended period of time to spot the subtle unfolding of a new structure or a phenomenon - before it became visible to anyone else.

As a coach, I bring the same optimism, joy, and discipline of discovery when we shine the light on invisible things that a coaching client wants to bring into focus in their coaching session. I enjoy witnessing my clients’ wonder and awe as they encounter new aspects of themselves for the first time.

I listen to the sixth sense. I have cultivated systems thinking throughout my career. In my roles as an engineer and business leader, I learned to pay close attention to patterns, trends, and dynamic interdependencies. Of all things that appear to matter, I noticed synchronicity and a sense of timing seem to hold the most powerful keys to transformational growth.

In coaching, we directly experience and marvel at the significance of powerful moments as we increase our capacity for strategic intuition and situational wisdom. Not all moments are equally powerful, but each one is an indispensable building block in a unique transformational symphony of life.

I trust the process and the resourcefulness of our human creativity. Growing up in the former Yugoslavia during the civil war and disintegration of the country, I directly witnessed the complexity, strain, and tremendous resilience of the human spirit. Through those experiences, I gained a humbling appreciation for the regenerative powers of hope, curiosity, and love in times of extreme uncertainty and trauma.

In my coaching sessions, I aspire to provide unconditional positive regard, radical acceptance, and full presence for my clients who navigate the deep and cloudy waters of uncertainty, dilemmas, paradoxes, and personal transformation.

What to Expect When We Work Together

Professionalism

I strive for the highest standards of professional conduct in coaching practice, as described in the ICF and NBHWC Code of Ethics. I offer a safe coaching space, where my clients can be heard, celebrated, and encouraged to try and reach for more.

Privacy

Coaching confidentiality is the foundation of trust in coaching and the key requirement for respectful and effective coaching relationships. I also prioritize privacy by partnering with vendors that aim for the highest privacy standards in the coaching industry.

Personalization

I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all model in coaching. I celebrate the diverse perspectives and unique needs of every person. I partner with the client to create a personalized coaching pathway that focuses on their unique goals and needs.

Partnership

I partner with the client in every step of the coaching process from the start to the end of the coaching journey. In every coaching session, I check in with the client to identify or reconfirm what they want to accomplish in the session.

Presence

In a coaching session, I remain fully aware, curious, and present with the client, using a style that is open, flexible, grounded, and confident. I am comfortable with working with strong client emotions, working in a space of silence, and being present with not knowing.

Progression

I partner with the client to transform their learning and insight into action. I facilitate the client’s learning progress, I encourage client-defined accountability measures, and I promote the client’s autonomy in the coaching process.

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.”

Philosophy & Coaching Style

Personal and Coaching Philosophy

Panta Rhei. Carpe Diem. I recognize that everything flows. What makes the difference in the greater impermanence of life is where we focus our curiosity, what we choose to organize and optimize for, and how we decide to use our energy. I focus on the growth and nurture of human potential and organize my actions and energy for love, awe, and joy.

Coaching Style

My approach to coaching is evidence-based, integral, and holistic.

I am a double-credentialed NBC-HWC and ICF-PCC coach (a rare group of a hundred coaches worldwide, and the world’s first dual NBC-HWC & ICF-PCC coach with a Ph.D. in engineering science). I practice ethical coaching grounded in the art and science of creativity, evidence-based scientific coaching approaches, and direct practical observations from +3,000 one-on-one professional coaching sessions completed.

An integral approach potentiates richer awareness and integrates insights accessed through different ways of knowing and doing.

Holistic coaching focuses on the whole person. When we come from more dimensions of our being, we live, move, and grow more congruently so that our actions produce meaningful desired outcomes rather than false starts.

My default coaching style is direct, transformational, and highly responsive to the clients’ ways of sensing, being, and meaning-making. For clients who enjoy structure and process - we can be as structured, deliberate, and strategic as you wish, and for clients who enjoy reflective or blended exploration - we can keep ample space for sensing, prospecting, visualization, reflective inquiry, and creative experimenting.
